Background Information :

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase of one hundred (100) refurbished computers (specifications attached) to replace student computers (purchased in 2002) that are in various classrooms across the System. Funds are available for this purchase within the General Purpose School Fund budget for the current fiscal year as previously approved by the Board. We received one (1) bid for this purchase, which is summarized on the bid request tally sheet. The bid received was from Insight Systems Exchange for $177.50 per unit. All units covered by this bid come with a three (3) year warranty.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the only bid received as submitted by Insight Systems Exchange in the amount of $177.50 for each refurbished computer unit. Total cost for one hundred (100) units is $17,750.
